It was about a quarter after 7pm Thursday night when Colin Farrell decided to drop-in at the Gasparilla International Film Festival’s red carpet at the Cinebistro in Hyde Park Village, FL. Thirty minutes before he hopped off of a plane from LA in hopes of supporting his friend Ante Novakovic, director and co-writer of “The Fix”.
This was the first time Colin has been in the Tampa Bay area and he said, “I’m always delighted to go somewhere where I’ve never been, it’s beautiful.”
Colin hopped out of a minivan, took several pictures with his friends and supporting fans, and graciously was interviewed by a few reporters. His humble attitude showed that this was Ante’s moment while talking about their friendship over the past 7-8 years.
Colin goes on about Ante’s accomplishment, “I’m a big fan of Ante’s work, he’s a published poet; playwriters had his work produced on stages in New York and this is the first time that he’s written and directed a film so it’s really really exciting, its a really huge thing. I’m just here to celebrate his success, I’m thrilled to be here and I love the film.”
Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF) has grown into an entertaining and educational year-round entity in Tampa Bay since 2006. It supports year-long film screening, production, and education throughout the Tampa Bay region.
Randall Productions is honored to capture GIFF’s events and red carpet moments since 2012. We will continue to be involved in the film industry and hope to expand Tampa Bay’s filmmaking.
